An existing 69,00 SF, two story building on the Montgomery College Rockville Campus was renovated to house new classrooms, laboratories, a math emporium, open study area, lecture hall and an administrative suite. Pedestrian bridges connect this building to the adjacent Science Center and the Macklin Tower buildings. Similar to the Science East building, at this building too the overall renovations included asbestos removal, general building improvements, HVAC systems replacement and related energy conservation measures, and building access improvements. The College's commitment to energy conservation, waste stream reduction and leadership in establishing a successful recycling program and other sustainable design features contributed towards pursuing for LEED Silver certification. Construction Cost 22 million.
